An Open Door: Relationships
Relationships are fulfilling and satisfying; they are also confusing and complicated: child to parent, parent to child, spouse to spouse, boss to workers, worker to co-worker, friend to friend, individual to adversary, generation to generation, even an individual with oneself.
Relationships bring out the best in me. I do love people. Relationships also bring out the worst in me. Relationships are revealing. They are the realm where the interface between heaven and earth becomes real. It is one thing to be considered a righteous, peaceful, patient, loving person when you are looking at a beautiful sunset on a tropical beach – with no one else around. It is entirely another matter when my boss is demanding, my child is tantruming, my spouse is irritating, my adversary is attacking, or when I am my own worst enemy.
Navigating a world of relationships has brought me to a multitude of open doors by first asking the Lord Jesus, who Himself lived and moved among us, to help me understand and approach this realm as He did.
My musings on relationships fall roughly into the following areas: Identity/self, Marriage, Children and Generation to Generation.
What about you? Relationships are all so unique, but I hope that these entries will inspire you to approach the Lord, who made relationships and who made us for relationships, to ask for guidance
