An Open Door: Scripture
As a child I had made a few feeble attempts to read my picture Bible. I began of course at the beginning, Genesis, got through Noah and the animals on the ark, but lost momentum well before Abraham became the father of Isaac. Not very far.
As soon as I crossed the threshold of faith by submitting my life to Jesus, I approached the Bible again (not from the beginning). This time however the door of scripture was flung open as the words of this ancient book spoke intimately to the cares, concerns and questions of my young heart. I hungrily read about the reality of God, the love of God, the truth of God and read about the lives of men and women who sought to follow Him. These words fed my soul. I became convinced that this is no ordinary book but a portal through which God continually seeks to communicate with us.
Over the years of reading and studying, my journey has been intercepted by His words of promise, words of revelation, words of conviction, words of comfort as the Holy Spirit has applied them to my little life.
This section is divided into two: insights and studies. The studies are meant to be an invitation to you to approach scripture as an open door. What about you? What is it that God might want to say to you about your cares, concerns and questions through His Word? Perhaps you too will discover a banquet available for your hungry soul.
