Welcome!

I am honored that you would take a few moments to allow me to share some of my writing with you.
This picture is of our opened back door and the threshold which I have crossed countless times. Sometimes it has been holding a child or grandchild’s hand, sometimes it is with eager dogs who go bounding ahead of me, sometimes it is just after I have pulled on my blue rubber work boots to go tend the chickens or the gardens, sometimes it is early in the morning with my Bible, notebook and steaming coffee, sometimes it is empty handed to just sit on the patio to look and listen. You get the picture. The open door gives me access to all that lies on the other side.
Revelation 3:8 has also inspired the naming of this blog. “Behold, I have set before you an open door which no one is able to shut.”
Behold, look, linger, consider, listen, observe, hearken. What do you see, what do you hear or perceive? I am convinced that there are open door moments all around us. As I have beheld the natural world, the human interaction world of relationships and the world of scripture, I have come to recognize that there is more to see than first meets the eye. I have done my best to capture what I have seen in hopes that it ignites something in you.
The open door is an opportunity awaiting. But it requires patiently looking, humbly listening to perceive and willingly taking steps to participate in what is revealed. Perhaps more important than the open door itself is the One who holds it open. “I have set before you an open door which no one is able to shut.” For me, the richest part of any of these open door experiences is in getting to develop my trust in, love for and experience with the Doorkeeper Himself.
If you want to read more about Revelation 3:8, there is an entry in the scripture section of this blog. In it I share more about my journey in developing this blog as a response to this verse.
Lastly, several of the posts will also include an audio link of me reading the post with inevitable side comments. I find that sometimes it is easier to communicate more expressively by speaking than by writing.
With all this said, I again thank you for accepting this invitation to step through an open door.
